Apart from sharing engine, gearbox and rear axle in
common with the bullnose model it replaced, this Oxford
featured a new design chassis and suspension, with modified
braking and steering. Cosmetically the most significant
changes were the replacement of the "D fronted" radiator,
commonly known as the "bullnose" by a flat radiator and the loss of the battery and the fuel can from the running boards.
This car subsequently became known as the "flatnose".
